My honest take
You don’t need an automatic table to have a magical game night. People played Mahjong beautifully for decades with nothing but tiles and a card table.
But. If you host often, if your group is growing, if you want game night to feel elevated, an automatic table changes everything. It’s the difference between “we should do this again sometime” and “same time next week?”
